My experience was with Conroy removals was fine. I think you did a good job with the dates for pickup and delivery. However, one of my items has broken (chipped study table, draws won't go back in - I only noticed the draws today as I was opening them). I only had a few items and it was an interstate move. So makes me abit worried if I was to do bigger move if my items would be ruined.
We used Conroy removal to move our furniture from Ashburton New Zealand to QLD Australia early this year 2022 and I would say that this is one of the worst experiences we ever had because a lot of our stuff got damaged, broken dining table, washing machine, slow cooker broken into pieces, wedding picture frame and many more. When they unloaded our stuff in Townsville, one of the Conroy employees doesn’t have respect for our furniture. Even in from of my wife and son, he was very rough with our stuff and even dropped the washing machine.
Our furniture had insured with Conroy, and I paid that separately with them so that if there is something wrong, we can claim. After identifying all the items that got damaged, I sent a claim to Conroy NZ, and one of their employees in New Zealand offered me $250 and $100 for the washing machine. One of his conditions is, that I have to look for a repair shop and send him the quotations before he pays me. I thought he is a joke, so I stop dealing with him. He can keep the $100 for the washing machine and $250 for the other items if that makes him happy.
Our furniture had been delayed for weeks and when it finally arrived, you can’t use it because it got damaged. So, it ends up at a dumping site.
I will never use this company again, ever!
Our driver was great, corresspondance from conroy regarding clearance and whereabouts of the ship was good it took longer than expected but this was nothing to do with Conroy, they always informed us when any delays were expected. Some boxes were in rough shape, they were not extra thick boxes so this was expected a bit we haven't unpacked yet so not sure if goods are damaged inside or not. This could have been caused by the many moves we made before delivery. Conroy were great.
Two ornaments and a clock were broken. I discovered that my sheets and pillows had been used for packing around fragile items. I was very annoyed at this, and had I known, would not have allowed it. Otherwise, everything else was satisfactory, except that we are still waiting for the packing boxes and paper packaging to be removed, as was promised.
I thought that I had paid for door to door in Germany. So the additional cost of over $700 incurred here in Australia came as an unpleasant surprise.
The New Zealand end was very good and efficient . But since our goods were cleared at Brisane on the 13 June 22 communication was not good . We are still waiting for our shipment to arrive to us , it is now 19 July and still waiting !!
Excellent service
The delivery service was not according to the contract that I signed for removal at the origin and the staff refused to communicate between the parties and resolve the issue in a professional way. In the original contract, there was a re-assembly service with no condition included, but it never happened at the destination!
It's been a pleasure dealing with Conroys Australia,kept me informed and delivered to the door by a very personable young man. No breakages. Thank you for your great service. I will thank the Napier NZ branch personally. Judy Yaxley
The uplift and delivery teams were fantastic. All furniture taken care of. However, I was extremely disappointed that the Brisbane team did not book a delivery date for our furniture. Our furniture arrived by rail to Townsville and it wasn't until the Townsville branch received the container that they tried to book a delivery date for us. This meant our belongings sat in Townsville for a week before they could be delivered and delayed our ability to move into our home. There was very poor communication from Rhonda who failed to call me back when I rang up to enquire about this twice and I ended up having to chase up delivery dates with the Townsville branch. Not impressed.
