"Communication was awful"
Communication was awful and the $60 "difficult" delivery fee was just not warranted. The 2 guys you sent were polite and efficient. No problem with them. The entire delivery with unpacking took 80 minutes. Why you couldn't arrange delivery sooner than 3 weeks after quarantine is beyond me. Only when I called 3 times did I get any service. Enjoy you ill - gotten $60 and continue to not follow up with your customers -- great business plan.
"Very poor communication"
Very poor communication right through. Items missing arrival.
"poor service"
Everything was fine until my stuff arrived in the UK. First it was stuck waiting for customs for 3 weeks, now two weeks on from there I have no idea where my shipment is and the guy handling things at this end still an't give me a delivery date or time. Ultimately, if you don't receive your shipment even though it's been out of cutoms for two weeks that's poor service. There is no way I will be recommending this"service" to friends.

"negative feedback"
Dear Sir/Madam,
It does not give me any pleasure to give such negative feedback.
The problems with this shipment started from the USA freight forwarders, Certified International Movers and my perception is that they are more responsible for the problems than Conroy.
- The packing of this antique cabinet was inadequate. The doors which are made with 200 year old glass were packed in cardboard and bubble wrap. There was nothing to stop bending of the panel door. The doors needed a rigid wooden box.
- When the pieces were delivered by Conroy we witnessed the cabinet dropping about 200mm as it came out of the truck. One of your 2 delivery men was talking on his mobile phone as he was manouvering the cabinet into our back door. He was cradling the phone on his shoulder as he manouvered the cabinet.
- There were some cracks in the glass in the doors before the cabinet was shipped. I believe that there are some additional pieces with cracks however my experience with CIM and Conroy makes me think that an insurance claim would not be worth the many emails that would be involved.
- I received invoices for port charges that were clearly inclusions in the quote that I had from CIM. I believe that CIM did not take enough care in advising Conroy about which charges were included and therefore not to be paid by me, the receiver of the goods. My perception was that the freight companies were lazily trying to see what they could get away with.
- In all of my paprework, I made it clear that this cabinet was an inherited item (or bequeathed). The value I declared was $2,000 (much less than the $4,500) I paid in total for shipping. I chose to ship the cabinet for sentimental reasons not for monetary value. I think the value I declared is realistic, that duty is not the issue since the free trade agreement is now fully implemented. There seemed to be a problem with double handling and customs clearance due to the fact that these were bequeathed goods. I find it difficult to believe that Australian government would impose hundreds of dollars of customs clearance fees on Australians wishing to bring their possesions into the country - at the same time as removing duty. If this is how it is, the removal of duty is irrelevant compared to the customs clearance costs imposed. Somehow I think that this part of the shipment could have been done more economically.
- The people I dealt with at Conroys offices were pleasant and through the difficult circumstances they communicated effectively.
Kind regards
Paul

"Leather sofas were badly scraped"
Leather sofas were badly scraped, despite being wrapped.
"If I could give less than one star I would"
If I could give less than one star I would. I asked many detailed questions and was given many assurances but none of them was fulfilled. What I was told wouldn't happen did and what would happen didn't. Our goods were damaged and all clothing, linen and bedding stunk from the container and had to be washed several times. We had to go through an insurance claim to get some recompense but are still left with damaged goods. All in all an atrociuos performance.

The overseas removalist White Swan relocations were disgracefull. They charged me for 5.5 cubic meters when there was less than 4. All the paperwork said 3 cubic meters.
They refused to answer my e-mails on where my delivery was or even what ship it was on even though they advertise full tracking facilities.
Even though everything was supposed to be fully paid I still had to pay quarantine and port costs at this end.
On unpacking my TV I found it was broken. The incompetant people at White Swan put foam over the screen but not around the edges. Obviously someone has dropped the TV on it's edge shattering the screen.
Conroys should be very careful becoming involved with an untrustworthy company such as White Swan as they may get a poor name through no fault of their own. I would also check your paperwork on how many cubic meters you were paid for as I was charged 5.5 cubic meters uncrated and 6.5 cubic meters crated.

The only part of the move that didn't produce unpleasant suprises was the actual delivery to our storage facility.
I dont think I was told the truth about the tax I paid on my home-built aircraft parts. I was assured by the secretary that it would be brought in as "Private" and not "Commercial". I found out that I did actually pay commercial rates.
I also tried to emphasise that my wife is undergoing treatment for cancer and needs rest at home. Inside the container was her bed and some personal effects which she needed. She was having to sleep on a fold-out couch so I asked if things could be expidited. I certainly didnt get any indication from your company that this was heard or honoured.
Towards the end of the waiting period, my wife called the secretary to find out how long it would take, and that I had paid the tax the previous week. She was told it could take another month! I found out this side in Doha, that the freight had already been released by customs, but your secretary either didnt bother to find out the truth, or didnt want to give her the good news.
To round things off, several precious items have been broken and damaged. There was water damage too.
I am not using your services for my second container.
