Our only criticism would be that we were informed that our contents would be too much for a 20" container. We hence sold many possesions to create space and in the end the container was only 3/4 full. On arrival here we had to pay an additional cost for a shuttle service despite our insistance it was not required. When the delivery arrived, the shuttle was not required after all and a refund was then required.
We were happy with and appreciated the efforts of removalists in Brisbane and then when we arrived in Melbourne but next time we would like items packed better as frames, microwave and fridge now have scratches and dings. The issues we have are systematic in that we are still waiting to hear what is happening with the replacement of a damaged item and emails we sent to Brisbane were not sent onto Melbourne. It's like communicating with two different businesses.
The service definitely needs improvement. Shipment took around 4 months to arrive- wasn't advised so. One of the boxes came damaged and contents were broken in spite of the FRAGILE sticker at the top of the box. The driver was made aware about it but no action taken from the service people- Unsure if this was even raised.
Not happy with this move. I booked this move with Chess removals, at no time did anyone mention that Conroys would take over this move once it arrived in NZ. I would of booked direct with Conroys originally but after a few calls to your Brisbane office I didn't have much confidence with the lady who answered the phone, she didn't seem to have the answers to a lot of my enquiries. Our goods were cleared by customs in NZ on May 31, we still haven't recieved them. I've been told maybe next week ?? Not happy about that. They were uplited from Perth in Feb.
While we did receive all of our belongings- we were assured that our things would not grow mild while in storage. Unfortunately that is not true. Not all but MOST of our item smell and visibly have mold in them including expensive camera equipment, musical instruments, etc. My husband is asthmatic and highly allergic to things like mild- it has been extremely difficult to go through our things. We have had to throw away a lot of our belongings due to mold damage. So disappointed, especially after we paid close to 10,000 Australian Dollars, and was assured our things would not go moldy.
I wish there was a box with the option 'unsure' as I'm not sure if I'd use Conroy again or recommend them. The initial contact was easy and we got a quote quickly but things went downhill from there. The food item and alcohol inventory lists were sent to me after I had already packed everything up meaning I had to guess. These should go out with a prelim quote so it can be completed during packing. Then the NZ office asked me to complete the exact same thing! I had to tell her I had already done it and she said she would contact Melbourne about it. Not something I should be having to sort out for her. I was confused about the process because I had got an email saying it was cleared but it actually it still needed an inspection....maybe it's just me but the process wasn't too clear. I had clearly noted my father as contact for delivery as I was overseas, his number was noted on the forms. Instead I was woken up at 4am on the other side of the world by 6 phone calls within an hour by Conroy. They were trying to call my father but obviously did not call his number, they did they did not refer to the forms once again. Then when it came to delivery I had said I would coordinate a delivery time with my father and house sitter and I was adamant about wanting my father there. But instead Conroy left me out of the organization and my father was not present for delivery. I was extremely annoyed that my wishes had been ignored. It felt like they didn't care, it had been paid for and they wanted to offload it as soon as possible. When your life is being moved it's not just about them getting things from point A to point B. There was a lot of unnecessary stress involved in this move.
I was initially happy with Conroys service. The sales person, and the lady who assessed how much space I would need were excellent.
The two people who came to pack and take my goods, were polite, efficient and hard-working. I found the removal experience at that point very good indeed
I didn't like the tracking method. I understand there were delays due to Covid. The only notification I got, was a repeated change to the Arrival date in the tracking with no explanation. The process took nearly 4 months, after an inital estimate of 6 weeks to 3 months. I really feel that some greater contact was needed in unusual circumstances to explain the repeated change in arrival date.
I was happy that my goods were going to be unpacked, and the boxes and other rubbish removed. I was not very happy to be told once the goods had arrived that they were not allowed to put anything on the floor, and so I had to work to empty boxes myself, so that I could clear the counter for other things to be put onit. I was asked to check in the boxes off as I came in, but refused because I am quite blind. Had I been doing that job though, I wouldn't have been able to work at clearning surfaces so that more items could be put on them. My place is small without many surfaces. I didn't want to be left doing the whole job, as my eyesight would have made that difficult, as well as my expectation that the job would be done for me.
One of the workers was great, and respected my possessions. I found the other worker very careless. The second worker unpacked by tipping the boxes out on the beds and couches. This was disrespectful to my possessions, and made a very big mess for me to sort out and clean up. Furniture was put on top of the bed - an ottoman, when it should surely have gone on the floor, and then other things could have been placed there. The contents of my office draw, with ink, coloured pens etc was poured onto my uncovered mattress. If he had mentioned it to me, I would have got him a tray or something to put it on. In the end, two boxes were poured out onto the ground, which left a poorly wrapped lamp rolling on the floor, damaged, and a wi-fi light=bulb rolling round where I might have stood on it - since I'm blind. An expensive polished wooden box was just tipped out of the same box (again completely unwrapped) upside-down, as was another jewellery box. I found this very disrespectful, and don't regard this process as "unpacking". The same worker flung paper across the roomo which had a teacup from a Complete Vintage Dinner Set which of course, smashed into smithereens. He didn't even apologize. I was nearly in tears, as the set belonged to my mother. They muttered something about the packing not being done properly, but I had unpacked three of the kitchen boxes, and found the packing was done well in those boxes. If there is pressure to get the boxes empty quickly, and in a small pace, not many surfaces to put them on, it would be helplful if I could have been advised that a) I would need to help, and b) it be suggested that someone else would be needed to help. I could possibly have arranged for someone else to come and help me, although I don't know many people here. My keyboard had a smashed corner. It obviousy needed firmer wrapping.
I used Conroys because I had previously used them to move my Mother from Whangarei to Christchurch, and they had done an excellent job. I don't know if there's been a policy change or just one worker who is disrespectful of customers property.
One parcel got lost, they made no attempt to contact me,l had to contact them,up till then we where happy with the service,l was very upset over this
Thanks to a company that listens to its customers.
I found 2 of the 3 people that performed the removal were quite efficient but very slow. This is not a black mark against them as the 2 young men worked well into the night to get the job done.
The two men who moved our furniture worked tirelessly, they were ggreat.
pick up was delayed because of road conditions
this was very inconvenient for me
when they arrived I was given courteous service and care given to my furniture
pickup was speedy and gave me as little trouble as possible
