Whilst moving the fridge in, scratches were made to the wooden floor and 2 holes were punched into the wall.
The removalists were extremely convivial and a pleasure to have in our home however Conroy did not provided sufficient workforce to complete the job in a reasonable time despite additional payment being made for a 'difficult access.' When Conroy was contacted to discuss the customer service issues the response was very dismissive, they chose to inform me that my expectations were too high and in Australia that is the level of service I should expect.
I had to wait 2 months to get my goods back from Norfolk Island by Air Frieght which was acceptable although slow. I was contacted saying that the removal truck would be at my house between 10.30 and 11. The truck came to my house at 12.30. This was very unsatisfactory.
Many items were damaged (we haven't opened all the boxes yet) more concerned about some of the limited addition items. New house has been fully renovated and painters warned removalists about fresh walls etc. No care was taken and the walls are now scratched and dinted. Items were leaned up against walls after countless times of being told not to. Walls now need to be repainted and patched but painter can't come back until next year. Very upsetting considering the paint work was perfect.
Janelle in customer service was great thats the only area I was happy with.
Our experience with Conroys was excellent. Gary and Rhonda kept us well informed. To be honest, I had quotes from 3 companies and Gary was the one who kept in contact and followed up, which is the reason why we selected Conroys. My only disappointment was the delay in devanning and arranging the biosecurity clearance. Our shipment delivery has been delayed 25 days. I am however grateful, we will have our possessions just in time for Christmas.
I booked and arranged my rellocation with Asian Tigers (after extensive research).
I did not know about Convoy Removals as the partner in my Australian leg. I won't say it was the best move, but not the most professional of experiences. 3 workers arrived, 1 left after 30 minutes. Leaving 2 men. They had a 4-5 hour window to get goods into the apartment. Most of which was adequate. There were several dints and dings to my larger items. And breakages of general household items (glasses etc). All understandable. Reassembly of furniture was poor, the bed was not properly constructed, something I had to tear down and re-fasten for safety.
Lastly was general attitidue on sight. Matt was one of the workers, was communicative and helpful. The other just dropped boxes into a room.
Again not the worse experience, but it felt (this is is what you paid for) if you spent a few hundred/low thousands dollars to move. Not the total of nearly $12K experience.
A bit disappointed because one of our frames wasn't packed properly and ended up broken. It had our children's hand casting so was really heart breaking to see it all in pieces. I had mentioned about it on pick up and had requested for it to be handled with care which I was assured it will be.
My shipment arrived and was unloaded into my lobby only, not my apartment, without any communication that this was happening. I was simply called by the guy in the truck to say it was unloaded into my apartment lobby and they were leaving. No warning. I asked what would happen next, I was gobsmacked.... He simply said I should talk to Operations about someone else coming to bring it up to my apartment. I had to sit in my lobby and look after my boxes and furniture which was in the way of other residents in my building. It was absurd and a huge waste of my time. I could not initially reach the operations manager, Steve. When I finally did, I was told he would send someone, but no one had been organized. Eventually my partner went out to the truck to ask the guys (who sat in their truck for another half an hour after telling me they would not bring my shipment upstairs to my fourth floor apartment). He convinced them to bring it up.. I don't know why they wouldn't do it for me, I am the customer, not my partner! It was annoying, inconvenient, frustrating, and I take offence to the guys not doing it for me (a woman) but would agree to my 6ft 3 male boyfriend. Its disgusting. I would not use your organization again, nor would I recommend you. I have not had an apology.
Price quoted inintially was inaccurate. We ended up having to leave a few boxes in india, one of them was a small TV cabinet which I wanted to sell in india...however one of the drawers was put in another box which ended up coming to australia. So needless to say I can't sell the cabinet.
The overall process was well done and Karen did a great job with arranging the logistics and coordination. There were some minor issues during the uplift which made the experience rather unpleasant.
The team that came to collect the boxes were late by about 2 hours and one of them was rather rude about it as the road conditions were partly blocked by the construction site beside my residence. I was on the receiving end of some unpleasant comments from one of them even though they were late. Other than that, I have to compliment the team for packing the boxes and my television well, which arrived in good condition.
One suggestion that I would like Conroy to consider is to reduce the use of paper for packing. It is really excessive and the paper typically gets disposed off once we unpack.
