Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersWhile the move itself was performed well and with no damage to a very precious piano, I was trying to coordinate from interstate and I do have concerns with the communication lapses as follows;
I was asked to provide information i had already completed
Informed I had to pay the invoice when it hadn't actually been sent
Pickup staff went to an address other than the one I had provided (I think someone just googled my storage unit and went to the first address they saw) then called me to say that my access code wouldn't work. It took half an hour to figure out that they hadn't gone to the address I issued.
Pickup staff called to "confirm" that only some of my items were to be packed (this was incorrect, the entire storage unit was to be packed up - This had been made clear at the time of booking)
All in all I had a great result, but it was unnecessarily stressful and anxiety provoking in the leadup to delivery. I was particularly impressed with the care with which everything was loaded and unloaded.
I felt as though the staff were in a hurry to unload and no care was taken to lay anything on the floor to protect the carpet that had just been laid.
Very disappointed with only sending one packer as it put us so behind when moving out if our home the new owner was waiting 3 hrs for them to finish.
Average service. Was not kept up to date on when my container was arriving and had to chase up when the good where going to get delivered a week after being told I would recieve a phone call within 48hrs.
Unfortunately you have lost a large wood lathe, i was very disappointed that you knew it haddent arrived in Melb but didn't tell me until the rest of my stuff was delivered, Jon
Efficient customer service and good collection and delivery staff. Disappointed though about damaged goods. Our washing machine broke on the trip. Something cracked in the bottom of it. Also a plastic tub of good baking dishes (all in bubble wrap) was completely smashed, like someone took a hammer to them, the tub was smashed too, must have fallen from a height.
Packing was easy and fast, however they packed two blankets in one box and wrapped them with lots of paper. Just like MANY other boxes. So much wrapping paper. Half the boxes werent even full so i could have definately fit alot more. Kinda terrible really. So we get a quote tobpay and then half our boxes were just filled with wrapping paper.
I was quoted 5 to 7 weeks to receive my car. It took 9 weeks.
I was pleased with the support I received in finalising the entry paperwork and staff on the phone were very friendly, helpful and willing to listen to my individual circumstance to help me find the right way to report on my goods. Our main problems in the process were in terms of continuity of communication with the other movers involved in the international chain (Allied International and the local company who picked up and packed the items) as well as at the delivery end. The delivery staff took a 'drop and go' kind of approach even though I had a signed contract that said I was paying for full unpacking, set up and removal of packing materials. (Of course, as I need to process an insurance claim, it is perhaps good that we were left to do the unpacking as we could take full photographs, but I feel like I paid for a service I didn't receive because of lack of continuity of communication). I was also a bit dismayed to discover that I seemed to need to complete a whole new set of somewhat duplicative paperwork once the shipment fell under Conroy's control (as well as a set of additional payments that I did not expect) and I can't help but think that a lack of effective links and communication with Allied International contributed to that. All up, I ended up paying more than US$3500 to ship just a single dining room table, and ended up receiving a table with all four of its legs broken and needing complete replacement. Not a great experience, though I think most of the problems occurred before it reached Conroy's control.
A leg of a bed-side table was smashed off somewhere, sometime in transition. Your guys stuck it together with glue but glue only lasts a certain time and soon the leg will come apart. I have used Conroys before, hence I would recommend Coinroys to other and use them myself. However, we entrust our goods and expect them to arrive in good condition. Regretfully that did not happen this time.
