Of clients surveyed said they would recommend Conroy Removals to othersIf this move was a sporting event it would be a ‘game of two halves’. The Australian half was superb from the moment I first rang John, changed the details etc and the boxes were picked up it was awesome service all round...
...the NZ half was pretty amateurish, they lost a box at the port, the paperwork on delivery had it circled which meant someone knew it was missing but didn’t tell anyone, it took 3 days to find it then the delivery van broke down so it wasn’t delivered when they said it would be (no one phoned to tell us either) then on the next delivery day they were outside their estimated delivery time.
so we’ll done Conroy Australia - needs work Conroys NZ
From the start we had nothing but professional service from the Conroy team based in Regents Park, Sydney esp from Colin Holloway! However, once we arrived in NZ, our container arrived much later than expected and we had a very difficult time communicating with Karen Lindsay, we feel she brought down the companies good name & hope that she doesn't treat other customers the way we were treated. However, due to everyone elses thorough help and friendly nature, we will continue to recommend your services to our friends and family! Thankyou Conroy Removals & God bless:)
It was quoted as only taking an hour and took alot longer. I felt it was very expensive for the time it took and the fact it was only a short distance.
The movers were fantastic though very professional and easy to deal with.
Poor communication. Called and sent emails far too many times before I got a response. Constantly got recorded messages, rather than being able to speak to someone immediately, and receiving sponses dragged on for days.
Would prefer calls from real people instead of text messages re update of move status. Asked for info thru your website on three occasions and never got a promised return call. But when the goods were delivered the team were brilliant and worked in with me for best times. Impressive.
Generally the relocation and movement of the good into the house was acceptable, however, upon leaving furniture in at least three of the rooms was just left without any semblance of order.
The move was fuss free and easy . Great communication by supervisor Darren . The only thing I would comment is that we were under the assumption that the movers will unpack all items and lay it on flat surfaces ,however that didn't happen. Also ,they forgot to assemble our baby cot which was quite inconvenient .
Thankyou Conroy. I would have liked a phone call prior to the day of delivery as this made the arrangements rather rushed. The delivery man said the paperwork was sketchy and he didn’t know whether he had been engaged to unpack the parcels or not. He gave me the benefit of the doubt, as I couldn’t recall what the specific service was, and unpacked and placed two items of furniture. I am happy to unpack the rest.
Only moved a cabinet and 1 box from UK got here with no breakages but communication was not great in regards to when my stuff would arrive once in Australia and no communication in regards to extra charges I incured from customs that I was not aware of, I just recieved invoices for the charges. Although my move was organised by a uk removalists and Conroys was only contracted by them to deliver my stuff better communication would have been nice,
Didn't have much time to pack crates, had t get brother to bring drill hammer to screw lids on and wasn't sure if 30kg weight allowance included actual crate aswell.

Very disappointed as the quotation visit was great - we were told it would be close to filling a container. When the guys had come to pack on the Monday I asked about adding about 16 bottles of wine, a carton of candles and a sofa bed (only if we had room) and was told that shouldn't be a problem.
All was fine until the next day (upload day) when it became obvious very quickly that we were going to be over significantly (eventually by about 8 cubic metres). The packers all said they thought we had been quoted incorrectly as they could see that it was way over a container in volume.
I was asked (when the container was virtually filled) if we still wanted to transport the remainder! Of course we did - that is what we got the quote for!!!! I then had to pay an additional cost of >$500 - given the choice of course to leave it behind. It wasn't going to be transported if we didn't pay so it felt like blackmail. I even spoke to Vela (I think) who said that the guys wouldn't pick up the remainer unless the extra money was paid. I said that was absurd as all I had asked to add was a carton of candles and a little wine (was happy to leave the sofa bed behind if there wasn't room) - surely if the quote hadn't been done properly that was not my responsibility to have to pay an additional amount. I was extremely unhappy but paid it as we needed the other things. I wondered if this was a ploy that was used often to extract further funds from customers.
I asked about an ETA for our other things and was told up to 3 weeks!!!!! We now have to wait for someone else to use up the rest of the container before it is put onto the train for transport....NOT MY FAULT as the quote wasn't done properly yet I am the one who has to now deal with further inconvenience through the delays.
In addition, they did not put the transport bars on our Miele washing machine (they were on the back of the machine and only needed to be used) so the drum on the machine moved around all the way to Adelaide and now the drum has broken and needs to be replaced. It took us a week to get a technician out to look at it and now it will take a further week for the part to come in. 2 weeks without a washing machine is NOT acceptable.
When we unpacked the boxes they had so much paper in them - way more than I feel was needed and maybe this added to the problem of volume. They even double and triple paper wrapped Tupperware - not necessary!!!
I almost emailed the head office regarding this but have been dealing with so many issues since relocating so the survey arriving was fortuitous.
I would like a response from Conroy Removals Head Office not from the Perth office - Thanks
The service in NZ was good no issue with the help I recieved on that side. Things fell apart in Australia largely. I was told that the items I was shipping weren't mine repeatedly. An incredible statement to make, the origins of that I am unsure it maybe customs but it was without any factual basis. Theitems shipped were personal effects that were stored by me at my mothers for years as we moved to Australia in 2012.I hadn't moved some items over at the time becuase we wrere apartment living in Sydney at the time. Most items were from my childhood and not essential to daily life. My mother died recently and it came to crunch time. So there were all these theories perhaps as to what I had shipped. I said repeadtly open the fricken boxs if you dont believe me.The whole customs fiasco was most annoying. Secondly, it seems to me at least that 'Conroys Australia' is in fact Chloe Strong she is Conroys. If Chloe goes on leave, 'tough luck' you wait. She does a great job I am sure, but your staffing seems a bit thin on the ground and there seems to be no plan B should Chloe disappear for days. I will leave that with you to ponder. The truck driver you contract delivered the goods exactly ontime as requested so that guy is a keeper.
