"room for improvement"
While my experience with Conroy was fine, there is definately room for improvement. There were little annoyances all the way through the process. For example, I first got a quote from a salesperson, but when I engaged Conroy to do our move, the final quote was much higher (due to living in apartment building). On the actual day of the move, I had told Conroy agents multiple times that they couldn't arrive before 9 am as advised by our building manager. I was assured this was fine, only to have the movers arrive at 8 am! A third annoyance is that every aspect of the move is handled by a different person, and you have to keep telling them what you wanted. Our belongings were being put into storage, as had been advised right from the beginning but I was contacted once they arrived in the country to organise delivery.

Let down
We had the utmost faith in Conroys having used then several times before. However, when the goods were unpacked it was almost like someone had been throwing items on to the floor. Lots of breakages, poorly wrapped, missing key to cabinet....hard to price as some items very old , and family stuff. Was really disappointed.
Shipment Delay
Very unfortunate timing for the feedback request. Sydney side were fantastic but I still haven't received my shipment. Every time I call for an update the times shift and I am assured of a call back that doesn't happen. The delay now means I will not be present when my things are delivered (still 2 weeks away) and I will not have access to my clothes when I start at my new job.

Delivery took forever once it was cleared and ready in Sydney. I also only got a few hours notice of delivery mid week, which made it really hard to re organise work to make sure someone was home to receive the delivery. However the two that did deliver my boxes were absolutely lovely!

Service went smoothly, staff was super nice. The backoffice support could improve in two items:
- Email responsiveness: be quicker to respond to emails. I would normally expected a 24 hour SLA, or proper notification of OoO situations.,
- Single PoC: Having to deal with multiple point of contacts is not useful, and a bit confusing. I got replies to my queries from two different resources within Conroy. I can't name a single person that I could deal from day one all the day to the end.
Average
The custom and expensive brewery I had shipped was damaged. I was shocked when I learned it was only going to be wrapped in bubble wrap given the cost I paid for shipping. Sure enough when it arrived in Brisbane there where a number of components broken on it. Given the custom nature of it, it's not really practical to claim insurance for either. The rest of the service is good, but for this reason I don't have confidence in Conroy's shipping expensive delicate items.
Damaged Goods
would like to pass on my experiences, with your moving company, Gary was the first person I had contact with he came and gave us our original quote, he was very friendly and experienced, he was the reason we decided to go with your company. So when we sold our house we got hm out again to do a final quote after deciding what we items we were taking with us. On the day of the removal there were only 2 removalists turned up when I was told there would be three or four. It was immediately obvious to the head guy that all of our possessions weren’t going to fit. Three quarters of the way through loading the truck a supervisor from the depot, a staff member called me, he offered no solution to the problem only to suggest that we prioritise what we wanted to take, when I told him that this wasn’t possible as the truck was already 3/4 full and the only way was to get the guys to unpack it all, he just kept repeating to prioritise, he kept referring to the 1st quote which was done before we downsized our possessions, and kept stating that he would charge us another $1400 to move what wouldn’t fit. He was rude, unhelpful and kept blaming me for the problem. I tried to explain to him that we had gotten rid of even more furniture since the last quote so we should have had lots of room left. We managed to pack the remaining items in the cars we were driving down to Tasmania, however this made for a very uncomfortable journey and extra expense, using extra fuel for more the weight. The 2 guys that packed the container did all they could to get everything in, and worked really hard. Unfortunately when the furniture was delivered, it was found that our dining room table was left standing and there had been a lot of weight packed on top which collapsed and crushed the legs, and the base of my daughters bed was also smashed. Our experience with the removalists was excellent, not much can be said for my dealings with the other staff member.
"A few breakages"
A few breakages - i will take pictures and forward on. Also, my one cat basket was cleaned at customs and didnt make it to my house as part of your delivery - what should i do as i dont even know who to contact - I have paid for the cleaning and expected this to be delivered.
Half Our Belongings Left Behind
Overall the service from Conroy has been good but we’re very disappointed while unloading the container to discover half our belongings are still in the warehouse in Auckland...it wasn’t until we chased both Auckland and Brisbane offices we were finally given a shipment date. Biggest disappointment is our linen/computer and most of my tools (as I’m a builder) are the items left behind....why didn’t the balance follow in May when we were assured things were under control.
The experience with Conroys was good and bad. There was miscommunication between Janelle Maybury and Claire Alder, who ended up telling me that the person dropping my cabinet off had decided not to go ahead. This was completely untrue, and I had to find out what the story was and feeling panicked that the furniture would not get dropped off to Conroys in Melbourne. The person dropping the cabinet off actually had to ring them back and complain to them about their treatment of me, and their miscommunication.
Once the cabinet got dropped off to Conroys in Melbourne, then Lynn Douglas was awesome. I got emails informing me of all info, and where the cabinet was each step of the way, and that it had cleared customs and fumigation etc. Very communicative and informative and helpful. I appreciate that a lot.
I only use Conroys for my transport of furniture, and usually find them good. This particular experience was good and bad, but I would still use them.
