Pieces Broken On Arrival
Very nice drivers sent for pick up and delivery but only an ok service over the phone with the agents both in AU and UK to arrange pick-up, insurance and delivery. Shipping took much longer than expected and I had a couple of pieces broken on arrival which was the most disappointing part.
Misplaced Items
- A box belonging to the Frazer family from New South Wales was delivered to us. It was labelled for Canada yet delivered to our home in Melbourne.
- Once I was completely unpacked, I realised that I was missing a few items, including two original artworks by Margie Epstein, as well as my toaster (which was probably in a box with a few other goods).
- Despite staff having good etiquette over the phone, I think that misplacing and not delivering items ranks pretty low in terms of service, since you're being paid good money to deliver items that haven't arrived.
"Not overly impressed with the service"
Both men complained the whole time they where on site, my house mate Belle was moving faster then they were. The older gentleman stood on the leg of a kitchen chair and broke the leg (he told belle about it). Not overly impressed with the service.
Mixed Messages
Only concern was having to pay extra for the vehicle because we hadn’t owned it for 12 months. When I made enquiries at customs NZ a customer service person said you own your vehicle even when it’s on finance. So no you won’t have to pay for extra vehicle charges. Disappointing getting mixed messages.
Long Transit Time
The initial quote and booking stages were excellent. I queried the time it would take a few times and was told as with the website says 9-12 weeks. It wasnt until I got an email 7 weeks after my boxes left my house( 6/12) that I was told my boxes were been shipped in March no apology or explanation. I emailed my concerns I had presumed they were already en route I explained how unhappy I was and was then sent an earlier date of the end of February. At no point did anyone give an explanation as to why it was late only that the times can vary. My boxes didn’t arrive at my house until 16weeks after they left. I was impressed with the team this side I was just let down with the lack of communication and explanation of wait times. Perhaps you should extend your 9-12 weeks so you can meet expectation especially as if I hadn’t queried my boxes would she another 4 weeks later than this .

Many Items Broken
Many items were poorly packed and there were many broken items. My sister observed some of the packing process in New Zealand and had to ask for several items to be repacked as the process was shoddy. She has many students she arranges overseas delivery for and we have both agreed that your service was less than optimal. This is the first time she has tried out your company and will not again. This is how I have experienced your service.
Different Moving Experience
Moving from Australia to NZ two years previous we couldnt speak highly enough of Conroy's. unfortunately the experience of moving from NZ to Australia was a different journey all together. We were without our vehicles and household items for 2.5 months compared to the 4 weeks on the first occasion. I found out from another source that we would require vehicle import permits, the contact at Conroy NZ DID not advise me and was unsure when I asked in regards to this enquiry.
We received many "big" items damaged due to poor handling and storage, the insurance claim was not an easy process as we were questioned on the age of the items damaged and only offered less than the value of obtaining an item at a second hand rate THEN finally being granted claim we find out it is in NZ dollars which is even lower living in Australia. For the large amount of money that is paid for an international service we were very unhappy with the results of the second move and will not be using this service again when we relocate once again in three years time.
Inconsistent Moving Experience
Overall it was a great service, excellent customer service from the Perth end to begin with. Fell off a bit once boxes were picked up, had a few unanswered emails seeking further updates on shipping details. In the end our things didn't leave Perth until after I was expecting them to have arrived in NZ. NZ end had constant updates while items in transit, delivery arranged quickly and with no problems. My father (boxes delivered to his house) said the delivery staff were helpful and friendly, even arrived early! Haven't opened boxes yet but all seem intact so I'm not anticipating any damage.
"Communication wasn't ideal"
Whilst we received our goods and mostly ok condition, the boxes were very beaten up with rips etc. It was clear heavy items were put onto lighter boxes etc. Communication wasn't ideal and I didn't feel you were very responsive. Delivery was to take place in the afternoon, but it came in the morning. I had to keep pestering to get delivery date.
"Rather chaotic arrangements"
The guys who actually came to make the Mive was both polite and efficient, and was the saving grace of the whole process.
Rather chaotic arrangements with emails spelling names wrong, ever changing dates of arrival (which was at times just confusing).
Then I got a call that told me right one day after an email about customs clearance that everything would arrive at my home the next day! No calls to schedule the appointment or anything!
The girls who called were always polite to their credit. They sounded very stressed. Both they and the man coordinating my move asked me back “has no one booked a date with you yet?”, when it was obviously his job to actually call me to make a date! Everyone was polite, but it was so chaotic. Every time the reason was “we are overworked and stressed”. Conroy needs to get their management act together, this can’t be healthy!
Over-all good friendly service.
I also have damage to the mose expensive item moved which is sad but there is no way to determine when the damage occurred. I guess its safe to say the items Should have been packaged better by the packing company.
The delivery could have been done a bit better. I am missing some items (I think one box) but due to the method in which the unloading was done, was unaware at the time of the unloading. This makes it very difficult to determine where it when missing or what may have happenned. I believe that it will get sent to me if it turns up in the system somewhere.
