Damaged Furniture
Three reason why I wouldn't use your service again your staff are very unorganised, had two pay a three party to complete service, MY FURNITURE HAS DAMAGED AND NO ONE HAS
GOT IN TOUCH WITH ME
Very Very Dusty
The movers in Ballarat were very quick and efficient, but I do object to opening boxes that had been packed by your movers to find rubbish from packing materials were thrown in with the rest of my contents. One of the items appear to have had food on it. This was on the white paper that was used by your packers.
Not sure where the issue arose but a lot of my contents were covered in dust. Wherever my items where stored whilst in transit must have been VERY VERY dusty as it got through the sealed wrapping, and a closed chest freezer lid. As well as a lot of others items that were in seperate boxes packed by your company. I accept any damage from items that I packed, but paid for items to arrive in a reasonable condition.
Kitchen items ALL had to be cleaned and I would have thought that china plates would have been individually wrapped before packing rather than wrapping a bundle into one package before placing into the boxes. Same thing goes for glasses as well.
3 Stars
Service from Australian office was excellent and very accomodating to our needs. Long delay in using a shared container though.
Major problem (hence the 3 stars instead of 5) with the packing was from Alpha Removals in Sweden. When we opened the packing in Brisbane and I found that it was extremely inefficient in how it was packed with a lot of empty space in boxes, resulting in extra cost for us in volume. They even packed an empty box into a box! Do not use Alpha Removals in Sweden again.
"Really rude!"
Of the 3 guys who delivered, one was rude & I saw him literally drop a sofa (intentionally) in the truck. Zero care. He wore earplugs with music playing so when I spoke to him he was 'zoned out' & uncommunicative. In fact all three listened to music like this & didn't engage with either me or my husband. Really rude!
Many large pieces of furniture were not unwrapped & they were all eager to get get out of my home & finish up. They scraped freshly painted walls and when I mentioned they needed to be careful, their attitude was terrible. Also two of them needed to wear deodorant.
Delays with processing
There were delays in the processing at this end that were not communicated with me well enough. On 16th August, I was told it would be around 10 days for full clearance. However, 15 days later, it still had not occurred. I had to keep emailing you to find out what was happening even though I was promised regular updates.
Delivery was excellent and the men were very careful with unloading and moving my boxes.
More information required about the process
I gave a glowing reference for the household goods removal service but shipping my car wasn't quite the same experience. In Australia I asked for information about preparing the car for dropping off at the depot and other than giving it a clean was told I didn't need to do anything. When I dropped it off I was advised I should have a near empty gas tank - I'd just filled it up!
Once the car arrived in NZ I wasn't happy with the level of communication. I was emailed several times with the arrival and customs clearance dates. The form said I had pre-clearance but the car was only available for release from the depot 11 days later. I wasn't given information about what checks/procedures were happening in that time. I also think it could be much clearer about the process after release for compliance and registration, as well as providing details for providers for compliance.
"Overall the service was good"
The service and communication in Australia was very good. Delivery in NZ was not so thorough. Our furniture was split over two delivery dates. The first delivery included essentials such as fridge and beds who was appreciated but the larger items were not unwrapped. The second delivery was at very short notice and there was no list of items so we were not able to check that all boxes were delivered. The second delivery did remove the packaging according to the contract. Overall the service was good, but a final inventory list would have been reassuring.
"disappointed"
While the delivery of the goods went fairly much as expected, I was disappointed that one small box has been lost in the move. It is a camera tripod that is under the amount of the insurance deductible so I can't claim for it. I have a picture of the tripod box in my shipping crate, but your staff claim it was not in the crate once it was opened. This is a bit difficult to swallow since our little crate was packed by us and sealed by us. I also found the communication to be a bit slow when it came to letting us know about delivery.
"Don't respond to requests for information"
Don't respond to requests for information, or follow up in a timely manner after repeated requests for updates on consignment delivery. Took unreasonable length of time to deliver goods after arrival into Australia (took weeks). Actual day of delivery service was on-time, courteous and professional.
"considerate and careful with our goods"
Very happy with the two people who came and deliver our Goodes they were being polite, considerate and careful with our goods. They also came on time and very helpful. Five stars for them.
Not happy with the whole waiting time. No star for the whole waiting time,
"went very smoothly"
Hi, my move went very smoothly until I got to Oxford. The guys that unloaded my furniture were great, the ramp they had to walk down badly needed re surfacing, it was quite dangerous. I contacted Christchurch office to tell them somewhere on the trip, one of my waredrobes had a hole punched in it, they said they would get back to me, still waiting??? If it wasn't for the ramp and the lack of responce from Christchurch it went very smoothly.
The two employees that delivered our goods were nice enough, and one of them stated up front that they would unpack everything, however, he said that generally when they did so, past customers had told them to stop after a short period of time (he said 20 - 30 min) because it was just "too overwhelming" for the customer. I felt this was possibly rehearsed preemptively to deter customers from wanting it done, to talk the customer out of it before they even asked. I had also asked them both to keep our front gate shut as we had cats I did not want to get out because they are frightened of strangers but found the gate left open because they were chucking the packing materials on the front lawn and for a few minutes had thought I had lost a cat because of it, only to find the cat well hidden within the house. After everything was brought in, the two employees assembled our bedframe and removed the packaging of anything they had unwrapped. After they had left, scraps of cardboard from the wrapping were found throughout the house as if the cleanup was done hastily rather than thouroughly. But the most annoying aspect of the service was the bedframe. It was pretty evident that it was slapped together rather hastily and apathetically as the box spring wasn't even sitting within the bedframe, there was about an inch of exposed rail under the boxspring on either side and the rails weren't even close to being parallel. All that needed to be done is simply measure the width of the boxspring and assemble the frame to suit that width, otherwise the bed is not stable or safe. While I understand that they were probably on a time limit, I also believe that if you're going to do something, do it right or not at all, and they may as well not do it at all if it has to be redone by the cutomer.
