Conroy was subcontracted by Relo UK for the Australian leg of my delivery of my goods from London to Australia. My review of my overall experience relates more to ReloUK than Conroy - please see the following: http://www.removalreviews.co.uk/movers/relouk-639
It took me quite a large number of emails with Conroy to get to the bottom of what the charge from Conroy to ReloUK related to. The communication was somewhat better over the phone.
"You have broken a contract"
Sadly I paid for a sole use container and your company decided to use my contianer to add in another persons load to send down to Melbourne form townsville also. I am assuming you did not charge this perosn as much as you did me whcih meant I paid full price and you made extra off of the container that I paid for. In doing this your company destroyed my Television by placing a massive steel cage on top of a box that was clearly marked fragile and had arrosws showing which way up it should be packed. You did not do this and as a result the television was destroyed. I am now attempting to get compensated for my loss but as I expected you are taking your time tryign to figure out how you can get out of it instead of simply reimbursing me for the television. Your own terms and conditions state in Section 8 that you were neglegient and as such I am entitled to full compensation for my loss.
I am today speaking with someone about possibly seeking compensation through a reduction in the overall cost of my removal plus reimbursment for the television considering you used my container which I had paid for under contract as a sole use to move someone elses things.
Even you own subcontractors in Melbourne were shocked at how the load was packed and the damage done.
You have broken a contract and I expect to be compensated for what I am entitled to and so will be seeking further advise.

The guys who picked everything up and dropped everything off where brilliant best customer service I've had in a long time! So well done boys
Although the dates got mixed up but got solved I was made to feel as though it was my fault and was spoken down to and spoken to horribly while asking a time that the boys may arrive.i won't be using these guys again as I didn't get all of my belongings but had to ring up and find it where they were.

"overall experience disappointing"
The following issues have made our overall experience disappointing and some of it was as a result of handling in NZ.
- We have had damage to some items we suspect as a result of all the double handling. The fridge has been dented, a 5 mm deep hole is in the top of one of the besides and a wooden piece has been broken off the dining table.
- Cartons were coming apart on delivery.
- Items that had been unwrapped for quarantine were not rewrapped adequately to prevent damage in transit to delivery.
Whilst we appreciate you getting our stuff to us before Christmas, we feel the process would have happened faster if our emails were answered. We were asked to respond to an email regarding quarantine ASAP and when we hadn't heard back we rang only to find out Jenna hadn't even read our reply the following day. We understand it is a busy time but we feel our emails were not replied to in a prompt manner when time was important.
We feel the bubble wrap did not protect our furniture adequately. We were told it was recyclable but the local tip would not accept it for recycling. Disposing of the bubble has therefore cost us money to dump and given the time of year it has been inpractical for us to store it and wait for you to pick it up.

"calls went unanswered"
Went Initially all went well setting up booking. However for day of packing we weren't really given any idea of how long it would take for them to pack and remove, admittedly it wasn't something we thought about prior to the day either. However we lived in an apartment and had to book elevator and had booked far too early as packing took over two hours. Fortunately all worked out in the end, however I'd recommend just an estimated packing time for size of lift day or two prior as have to book lifts in advance for apartments so was a bit stressful on the day. We had issues trying to sort out insurance. Took over ten attempts with phone calls and emails over the course of a week. Only had one call back but we had since left Melbourne for holiday and had intermittent phone reception. Again was just an unnecessary stress that could have been dealt with earlier with a call back. Tried to go through Melbourne office rather than our direct contact to try speed it along however all calls went unanswered and to same voicemail of contact we had dealt with.
"I found conroy to be very good"
I found conroy to be very good .but there inability to answer and return ph calls was quite annoying i ended ringing branches in other states to find answers to questions i needed answers for.I found this extremely stressful at a very awkward time which moving from one country to another is .the staff that came to house were extremely effiecent and friendly and helpful cheers guys
"only two wine glasses broken"
The team that loaded in Wanganui were great. I was told they wrap mattresses etc on pickup.... not. The storage service was great....we had to store our household gear for 5 months in Sydney... I did not get a response for a week however when trying to organise the delivery from Sydney to Tamworth and then I had to chase up the calls... I gave three weeks notice... then I got two different delivery dates from two different people. ... no names at bottom of emails to reference...after I had arranged time off work etc etc for the first confirmed date they rang two days later and gave me a totally different date. After a heated phone call they agreed on initial. I was told they "unpack to bench height" ... they don't unpack boxes.... is this because we had a subcontracted delivery company deliver?...although they were very nice when I asked them to please take away plastic. ..and they were very polite. We had a trailer full of cardboard and wrapping...do not expect them to take it all away. There were only two wine glasses broken so happy with that side of it.
"constant communication"
My experience with your company in New Zealand was very poor, and I have submitted a review on their site to that effect.
My experience in Australia was superb, with constant communication letting me know what was going on at every stage.
I felt there was a lack of disclosure as I was not advised of the high custom costs upon arrival of the goods at destination. I found the staff in Sydney and destination very attentive - goods arrived safely
