"were some damages to our furniture"
There were some damages to our furniture and some items missing. I had paid for a crate for my TV but when it arrived it was only in the tv cardboard with some of my duvet covers and sheets inside it. Overall, they did do a good job but could have paid abit of attention to detail on some of the items to avoid damages.

shipment took weeks longer
The service in NZ was very good and the people who packed and unpacked on both sides were great. I was really disappointed by the communications around my shipment in Australia. I was told my shipment would be in the country on the 2/11 and I didn't get delivery of my goods till the 15/11. I had to chase the Australian depot after I got an email to say my goods had cleared customs and quarantine and no one contacted me to arrange delivery. The shipment also took weeks longer than the 5-7 weeks I was advised and there were no issue that have should have caused delays.

"very disappointed"
very disappointed, several items of furniture, (bookcase, DVD rack, bunk beds etc) have all sustained damage due to your packers sticking tape directly onto our furniture instead of wrapping it all correctly. Also instead of wrapping plastic tubs individually they have been wrapped together causing the lids and the tubs themselves to break. Everything we packed ourselves got here in one piece though!
"keeping me informed about progress"
The Australian segment of the move went very well. Staff were very good at keeping me informed about progress, dealing with Customs etc., and what I had to do. The delivery ws arranged smoothly and efficiently.
It is a pity that the overall experience had already been marrred by a couple of aspects of the Auckland operation, which consequently have impacted this review and which have been commented on in a seperate review.
" customer service and contact was positive"
Generally the customer service and contact was positive, by email, phone and in person with the removalists. However, while the price was good there were negatives as follows:
- There was fairly extensive damage to our boxes, especially those marked very clearly as fragile. I'm not sure when Conroy took over from Windmill in the logistic chain, so it may have been that the damage was done earlier. What I do know is what I saw in the container that was delivered. There was minimal segregation between each clients' goods, and once the 1st clients good had been removed, there was little to restrain the remainder of the goods from flying around in the back.
- As I've worked as a removalist and have experience with these things, I was able to limit the damage to our fragile goods through careful padding and packing. However, I would imagine that, considering the extensive damage to the boxes, other may not be so lucky.
- The time taken from receipt in Sydney to delivery was quite long, but also not helped by the need to clean the ike we had transported.
"The guys doing the actual delivery did a great job"
The guys doing the actual delivery did a great job and we can't thank them enough. My downgrade on the response was due to confusion, delay and misunderstandings in the email communications regarding the customs forms and matters with the airfreight. I need to acknowledge that we were probably partially to blame for some of it but the wording (lack of clarity in most cases) was the main problem.
"did not receive no follow up"

"Rough handling or packaging"
Rough handling or packaging resulted in the most precious furniture items being cracked or broken upon arrival here in Nelson to my home. A bottle of expensive Top Shelf was absent from its carton. No sign of stain age or broken glass. A clean removal. That carton of top shelf had been repacked into a tall carton at some stage. One carton containing crystal glasses and towels never arrived. To their credit, your Nelson crew have been sterling in their embarrassment, without hesitation, retrieving the damaged goods and submitting them to their local French polisher. One expensive chair now wobbles but I will live with it. So Mathew, I am disappointed. Haven't made any fuss about it, but you were so good to me, I felt I should level with you. Incidentally, before all was unpacked here, I sent Christchurch Conroys this same document with glowing praise. Sadly I should have hung back until all was revealed. Silly me.. I reiterate that your Nelson men are terrific, sincere Conroy representatives. They couldn't believe their eyes upon viewing the 2x chairs with broken backs, the solid antique table with a big solid leg broken off, the table top with its break down the middle seam, the Victorian couch with a leg broken. The missing bottle of whisky. They were a picture discovering these discrepancy so. Sorry mate. You did your job with class and caring. Alas a company is only as good as its weakest link. You have a weak link somewhere down the line.
"pretty disappointing"
Initially all was going well, then delays on pick up and pick up procedure changed. Then on arrival I was charged a large customs fee which even conroys were surprised with as I had a broker... then when the goods arrived to the final destination I watched the staff drop, throw and drag my my possessions inside the garage. Having watched first hand how they handled my things, it explained why 90% of my container were broken or destroyed. This was a pretty short review, there were lots of other issues in between the above, pretty disappointing.
Excellent in terms of safety and condition of goods when they arrived. No complaints there. However, it did take a long time to arrive after it arrived in Melbourne, then shipped to Sydney and finally delivered to Canberra. Seemed a very circuitous and slow route.
