"lots of items damaged"
"ransport of items did not go too well"
My father uses your services quite a bit, but this transport of items did not go too well, a little more work needs to be undertaken on the Sydney side of your operation
"Box labelling was very inadequate"
Box labelling was very inadequate.
1. Many recycled boxes were used with 2 labels - one set for us and the other from previous moves/customers still showing. This gave problems to the unloading crew because boxes had to be opened to check which was the correct label and destination for each box.
2. Box labels did not include an adequate list of contents. Many boxes were labelled "Books", but had other items in them.
3. Room names were confused on the labels. Boxes labelled "Study" were often boxes from the second bedroom, and vice versa. The pick-up crew had obviously not been properly informed of room names.
4. The unloading crew were unable to assemble 3 of our 4 beds because they could not locate the crews/bolts to do so. When the screws were eventually found 3 days after delivery, they were in a basket at the bottom of a box labelled only "Books, Bedroom 1". The screws were not listed as contents on the outside of the box. This was a major inconvenience to us.
5. Because of this poor labelling, we've still been unable to locate my husband's computer, 7 days after delivery. None of the 60+ boxes still to be unpacked has a label to indicate where it has been packed. This is another very major inconvenience to us and our ability to function here.
"just off loaded"
Service was excellent up to the delivery stage which you couldn't fault On arrival of the furnitue at the our a ddress it was just off loaded and left with furniture upside down and left surrounded by boxes and not placed in position .Furniture was damaged by rough handling, inexperice in reassembly of them, new double mattress ripped worn through on edge, double mattress has greasy hand marks, dresser draw damaged workbench castor wheels bent and base, this has put alot of emotional stress on my wife who is unwell and to be left with this was not exceptible.I have had to fly home from my rostered work site at additional cost to myself to get some organisation to the house over the weekend so she at least can move around and at least get to the bed for a rest.this experience of the unloading operaration has really discredited Conroy in my view as from the past experience we couldn't fault Conroy service, they haven't even rang back or sent the person to come round the next day to assist in the unpacking, we still need to complete the unpacking of the majority of the boxes when I get back from my shift to established if all the boxes did turn up and if there is any further breakage also nothing mentioned in regards to collecting the empty boxes and removal of packaging materials which is part of the service we paid for will need to claim against the insurance for the damage caused on the items we have seen as they are costly items. Hope this is enough information for your survey are we happy no hasn't the Townsville depot for the decency to ring and check on the delivery and come and check the damage. Doug
"Overall not nearly as good an experience"
We asked for a site visit twice to estimate volume. Despite that, it was wrong and we had to pay additional costs. Also, packers did not have enough boxes or packing materials and seemed in a great rush. There are a number of breakages. On US delivery end, very little information on when delivery was to be made and changed delivery date/times several times to suit their schedule. Overall not nearly as good an experience with Conways as when we had our Sydney delivery from Germany in 2014
"Delivery guys were great"
Communications not good to start with but once admin team took over it was much improved. Delivery guys were great and beat expectations. Thank you
One of the guys that came to our place was nice and very helpful (I think he was the guy with more responsibilities) the other one was just plain rude. He was also not doing his job properly: he put a box full of books (a very heavy one) over a box full of glass. This happened twice and only the second time I have managed to stop him or the glass would have been smashed (the boxes were cleary stating they where supposed to be at the top). When I have told him so he wanted me to take the box... I have a bad back and was not going to do such a thing.... Few things were broken I am not sure if it was during the travel before or after. The guys did not help us putting tugether the furniture that the guys overseas have taken apart (only the couch and the electric piano). Also it was a pain to know when the deliery was going to happen and I had to call several times to understand what was going on.
"Too much paperwork/admin"
Too much paperwork/admin. Had to chase for updates. Got incorrect instructions on what to do more than once
3 Star move
"especially disappointed"
This is the worst move I have had in five previous moves with Conroy. First, in Auckland, you sent five packers for what is only a half conatiner load volume. Barely an hour after the packers arrived, they took a half an hour break, then a long break for lunch, then an afternoon break. There was so much of talking and kidding around. Sometime after lunch, three left for another job. Of the two who remained, Henry worked hard while the other chap who did only the garage, was on his phone a lot and listening to music much of the time. They finished about 4.30 pm but found the truck too small and had to wait for a replacement. We had to leave and had them lock up after us. From my previous experience, the packing could have been done by 2 pm. Simon Conroy wanted two days but when I told him that I had a full container load plus a car from OZ to NZ two years prior, when it was packed by two persons by 3 pm, he said the job would be done by 4 pm the same day. He also gave us the wrong information about our ETD. Never did apologise, left it to Daniel to explain but he didn't quite apologise for the msitake which had affected the settlement of our newly-bought house. All in all, our Auckland impression of Conroy was poor from the very outset when I called for a quote - the lady who answered the phone was clearly inexperienced - she said she was new. At the destination end, I was quite impressed with your regular updates and all was well until the day of delivery when Mark Gould, the driver, was irritable with other motorists who tried to work around his truck. He ignored my daughter and just stayed put when told to give way to other vehicles. While unpacking he was agitated and talking loudly. At one point when Colin was trying to assemble a sideboard, he said the legs were broken and discouraged Colin from assembling it. The sideboard's legs were not broken and was assembled properly by Colin. Minutes later while he was stacking collectibles on the dining table, he swung around and his tool belt hit a procelain jug to the ground completely shattering it. Instead of apologising he said we shouldn't have put the collectibles on the dining table. What? But it was he who assembled the dining table and placed the collectibles on it. I was obviously unhappy and told him he had a bad attitude since he came to the job. He went on a tirade with the most foul language at me. I might add he did such a bad job of assembling the dining table that Colin had to come back a week later to put it right. I complained to Glen Hankins but to date had received no apologies nor any offer of restitution for the broken jug (not claimable for insurance). I am especially disappointed as I have used Conroy several times before and the treatment I got was a real let down for a loyal customer.
Upon unpacking lots of items damaged due to being packed together with heavier ones, Computer printer possibly ruined after being packed upside down and ink leaking out some older items with sentimental value attached broken. Two LCD TV's packed together with keyboard in the middle, not the best idea???
Still waiting for some items to be delivered by UK agent?
