"I would consider using Conroys again"
I have today sent a feedback email to the Sydney office, attention Davide, outlining my disappointment in regards to a hold up with delivery of my goods due to a money transfer issue between the PNG agent and Conroy. I paid in full, in advance, for all services, yet I am disadvantaged when the internal processes are held up. I would consider using Conroys again, however only if this issue can be remediated immediatly and my delivery, which I am told by the internal agent will now be Monday - 6 weeks after having been packed and sent.
"The delivery of goods was satisfactory"
The delivery of goods was satisfactory; on time and the delivery crew was efficient and cheerful. The only real problem was Conroy's choice of customs agent. The agent appeared to be unfamiliar with our type of import and proposed a ludicrous fee several times in excess of previous agents we have used.
Helpful and friendly service, however we contracted major damage (=total loss) to our 2 year old piano. In retrospect this (most likely) occured as a result of a significant knock while unloading the piano from sea container. Due to bad communication with overseas mover the piano was clearly tilted on its side (against specific instructions from overseas mover to keep it upright), causing spill of condensation water and subsequent corrosion to snares and internal piano mechanics.
"the Aussie side the men were very friendly and I would recommend them"
We were not impressed by some of the advice given England side. We were told not to pack anything ourselves as their men would make use of space to best advantage. Our daughter has many cuddly toys and we thought they would be packed into draws and space in units etc, however we found that none were packed in draws but separate boxes and as we were billed for volume this obviously would have added to the overall bill. The packers England side were a mixed bunch and in particular the grumpy one who packed up my study didn't take care with some packing and books and dvd cases were damaged as a result. We have managed to lose a table protector for the dining room table which was presumably taken away with the rubbish on the day of arrival other than that the Aussie side the men were very friendly and I would recommend them .
"questions or concerns were genarally answered quickly and efficiently"
Between the shipper from Thailand and the clearance of the goods here i felt i was left in a vacuum meaning i was not clear on what additional expenses were to be incurred when the goods arrived or even when they were to arrive. I do not know if these communication problems were the fault of the Thai shipper or not but at the end of the day i had to spend more $ to clear my stuff than i had expected and it took 2 months from the time of leaving Thailand to arriving at the destiantion here. Fortunately these goods were not required urgently but really 2 months for 4 plastic storage boxes is too long. Why i had to pay $200 for fumigation here on top of paying fumigation costs in Thailand is beyond me and i am left with the feeling of being gouged by one of the parties. Am i going to lose sleep over this, no, will i be smarter next time, yes.
On a postive note staff response to my questions or concerns were genarally answered quickly and efficiently so i tend to think the issues may have been more generated at the Thai end than with Conroy's.

"surprised that I didn't get better communication"
My stuff was being delivered to my father-in-laws house and I was surprised that I didn't get better communication from Conroy to let me know that delivery had been scheduled or completed. I had to keep asking my father-in-law what was happening.
"Overall the experience with Conroy was a lot better"
We were very unhappy with the service of your Hong Kong partner SwiftRelo, but once the shipment reached Australia and was handed over to you the communication was a lot better. We appreciated the good communication informing us about every step. However, we were not very satisfied with the communication once the shipment was cleared and handed to operations department. We were told that there were no current consignments to SA and that we would be contacted once there was further information. Then we hear nothing for weeks and suddenly I get a call telling me that the delivery will arrive within one hour! No prior email or phone call to discuss delivery.
Also were were told by SwiftRelo that all our things would be unpacked, all electronical devices checked and boxes and packing material taken back. Nothing like this happened. Overall the experience with Conroy was a lot better than with SwiftRelo, still we were not happy with the overall communication.
"all in all it was smooth and quick"
the unpacking was not nearly as extensive as i would like. the guys who did the job were good but two blokes isnt enough for this volume. the assembly of furniture was absolutely minimal. i think for that volume of stuff the handyman should be there. also more unboxing should be done on the day. there is an enourmous amount of waste which is very hard to manage to keep dry and also live in the house. i would like to reiterate that the guys did a good job and worked hard, its more to do with the level of service provided. all in all it was smooth and quick with no major issues.
"honest feedback"
We were disappointed that the young man that loaded my container revealed to us after three quarters of the way through that he had never packed a container on his own before? Why was this person sent to do such a big move with no experience?. The person who shouldve done it had a back problem so he was upstairs on his phone most of the time although he helped to wrap items but he came out too late to see that the container couldve been packed better which even he said my remaining items that were left behind, would have fit in, if it had been packed better from start to finish. On reflection i also think items were being carted from all over the house instead of in some order therefore room 1 had items still left behind instead of going out with everything being taken from that room and so on. I ended up gathering my items and dragging them into the doorway so they wouldnt get left behind. The inexperienced packer was also the person carrying everything down to the container. Towards the end my husband and I could see lots of items left in every room. There did not seem to be any order. We had packed a lot of our items ourselves and had those waiting in the doorway so that should have been an easy move. It took all day from 7.30am to 5.30pm with 3 people doing the move That just seemed to be way too long. I sent you an email enquiring as to getting my left over items sent to me here in nz but as yet there has been no communication from you. So my remaining items are still wrapped in your wrappings and i have had to ask family to store them until i find out when i can get the rest here. The unpackers in Gisborne were A1 and i was very happy with how they worked, fast, efficient and very helpful thank you NZ. You have asked for honest feedback and so thats what i have given. Im not sure if i am wanting to use you to ship my leftover items to me.
I was happy with the service of Isaac and his partner. They arrived at approx 10.35, the arranged time was 10 am. In hinsight I feel I paid too much. I was unable to have it done on a weekday as the pickup place had its restrictions but looking at the fact that the job was done in much less than 4 hrs even taken ito consideration the two times travel from pickup and back to depot from dropp off. Nevertheless I would have you guys doing it again for me and also I will recommend your business.
