Totally Recommend Conroy
From the very start of our journey with Conroy’s we were over whelmed by the customer service we received. Firstly from Justin who came to our home and went through everything. He was so approachable and spent time when we had questions etc. we had five companies out and only two we would recommend in personal service. But on saying that Justin stood out 100%. Our next dealings were with the ladies in the office (Melbourne) wonderful, responsive and always easy to get hold of. The two boys that came out to do our packing were fantastic. They were quick and efficient and worked really hard. These boys earned their money. Next we moved and arrived back in NZ. We had several updated emails and Henry from Conroy’s was great to deal with for the arrival of our home belongings. The two men that came to deliver were very friendly and chatting but also very quick and efficient. There was a bit of a drama when they left as the Manager of National storage Garlands rod came and got us and started off by using fowl language as apparently the driver had clipped the top of the building and she went on and on and on and then showed us a tyre track where as she said he had hit the steel pole and taken some paint off. She kept going on about paint and how they were...fowl language. She said about 200times I have them on video I have them on video. Personally I think she is on a personal power trip because no manger reaches and behaves like that. If you have the video ring you guys , send an email and a damage bill. Anyway I did not contact Conroy’s as Like I said she was over the top for a very small dent and piece of paint. Then she went on about a fire with Conroy’s which was inappropriate but I guess she was angry. Unfortunately we wanted to store our belongings with Conroy’s but we were told that we could not come and go as we wanted and that Conroy’s had to have a staff member present at all times other wise we would not be with National storage. So all in all a big 100% customer satisfaction with Conroy’s. I will totally recommend Conroy’s to anyone.
Mixed Messages
Only concern was having to pay extra for the vehicle because we hadn’t owned it for 12 months. When I made enquiries at customs NZ a customer service person said you own your vehicle even when it’s on finance. So no you won’t have to pay for extra vehicle charges. Disappointing getting mixed messages.
Amazing Beginning to End
Amazing service from the beginning to the end. This includes the quoting process, support in getting organised, information re customs etc, follow up support over transition period and changing addresses etc in NZ. Full, punctual and professional ongoing communication. Great thank you albeit I was only a little customer sending household chattels from Darwin to Hamilton.
4 Star Move
Despite my concern about an antique dresser and it being measured for a crate, and us paying (I thought) for a crate, the wooden mirrored top of the dresser was not created and only bubble wrapped. Of everything we moved this was the thing that I was most concerned about and the thing I most wanted crated so it was very disappointing to find it was not crated in the end. I had made this very clear to the Conroy people in Australia who came to do the quote. Significant damage (crush) was done to our antique dinning room table which we are in the process of making an insurance claim to be repaired. Unloading in Paihia was very unsatisfactory. I acknowledge the ferry truck driver let you down and on the day the Conroy guys did the best they could under the circumstances but that said it still meant that (a) the truck that was initially used was far too big to be driven up our private road - I had warned Conroy in both Australia and in New Zealand about this on multiple times and was assured it would not happen so again very disappointing and (b) there was only 2 guys to unload over 220 items (some large and heavy boxes and furniture). I acknowledge at the 11th hour once all the hard work had been done a couple of other guys turned up. I was not asked by the Conroy guys to help unload (I volunteered) but I spent a good couple of hours helping them because it was obvious that it was going to take a long time with just the 2 of them (compared to the 4 who packed and loaded our stuff in Australia). Despite the difficulties on the day the Conroy guys were helpful and professional at all times but it was obvious they needed help which they did not have. They seemed surprised to find we had stairs which again I had previously told Conroy about on multiple occasions. This is New Zealand after all - who does not have stairs? A few other breakages of smaller items but I guess that is to be expected given the volume and nature of the operation.
Smooth Move
Everything this side went very smoothly. The counterparts in the UK were struggling a little - it seems the systems aren't quite geared to allow for a different Sender to the Recipient. It's as if only one party can 'live' there, which means that communications aren't always going to the right person. Fortunately, we know the recipients well and have been able to smooth things out by forwarding emails, etc. when required. I'd consider that the only spot where you could possilbly look at improving. Everything else went really great and we would be sure to use you again in the future! Thanks again!
They kept me up to date through every step. So helpful when I needed extra customs help. Thanks John and your team.
