We selected Conroy pretty much on the doged determination of the assessor to win our order, a little intense at times but he won us over because of his knowledge of the process and his assurance that he would be there to lead his team. As it was he wasn't there, but the two men who did arrive were first rate and packed proficiently managing to wrap, pack and uplift so well that our whole household fitted into the container, something all three quoting companies said was not possible. It has just arrived, been unpacked and not a thing was broken. We were extremely happy with the service provided by Conroy and have every confidence in recommending their services for a move from Sydney to the South of England. One thing made the difference between giving them a 4 and not a 5 star and that was not being advised that we could have been liable for an unquantifiable levy for delays at the UK port arising as a result of a 'shortage of haulage drivers'. As it was there was no charge, but this should have been explained by Conroy rather than the UK contractor's literature.
"Overall the entire move went smoothly"
Overall the entire move went smoothly BUT there was one of thing that stood out,
1/ After the boys (Good KIWI lads) had packed up our house and everything had been loaded & taken away we came across 1 kitchen draw that had not been packed, so we rang up the depot on Thursday ND July to advise them of this and Jaymee told us that someone would be out on the following Monday 6th July to collect it which was not possible as we were flying out on Sunday 5th July to New Zealand for good so we had to drive it all the depot in Caboolture. The frustrating part was that no one seemed to care and so it was up to us to get it to the depot.

"Conroy’s has been great with the move in Australia"
Conroy’s has been great with the move in Australia.
We appreciate their patients with having to pick up other stuff along the way.
However we feel as a first time overseas movers;
There should have been some sort of awareness to the whole move.
Especially moving to PNG. We would never do this again.
The process is so slow and there is so much waiting behind it.
As Conroy’s adversities a door to door service we were left in the dark about PNGs customs and Immigration process until goods were actually in port.
If we knew that moving of our goods would take up to two months and maybe more to get to our destination. We probably would have been better prepared or we wouldn’t have done it.
But this falls onto the PNG side of things.
If we were aware that we had to apply for a ‘tax file number’ just for our own personal items to arrive in this country? Would have been handy to know, we could have got this done before being told that we had to do this with other paper work from ‘Hi Lift’. It probably would have speed things up.
We did not expect things to be so slow.
We just wish we were told about all of this. Would have been better prepared or aware.

"Am feeling very concerned"
Am feeling very concerned and devastated as we received an email from Simpsons who are receiving our goods into UK stating that most/if not all the boxes in the container are crushed, lots of the boxes have been opened and that alot of our belongings were loose and lying in the bottom of the container. Obviously I have not seen this myself as I am still in Australia. I cannot give you good marks and recommend you to others based on the email received from the removal company in the UK. I just hope that nothing is missing or broken but it is not sounding very positive!!
I found dealing with customer service to be easy, painless and they were always very prompt and patient as I had a huge number of questions. We haven't been able to open boxes yet as we haven't moved into our new home, however there are a number of boxes that are dented etc. Hoping that the contents are in tact on the inside. Many of the forms were quite confusing and we were given some that we didn't actually need to fill out. We had a significant mix up with our final bill which was quickly rectified, but if we hadn't been vigilent we could have over paid by around $500.
